Magnesium and bone health
Juvi · May 12, 2026
Magnesium isn't only about relaxation, it's a structural player too. This review pulled together 28 studies on magnesium and bone.
Many of us fall short. About 20% of people consistently consume less magnesium than recommended, and that group tends to show lower bone mineral density and higher fracture risk.
Low blood levels track with weaker bones. Lower serum magnesium correlated with osteoporosis, with low levels especially common among menopausal women.
Supplementing helped. Across intervention studies (250–1,800 mg, various forms), magnesium benefited both bone mineral density and fracture risk.
A daily, well-absorbed magnesium is an easy foundation to cover a common gap.
